These coins commemorate the 50 year anniversary of one of the most famous drag racing exhibition vehicles ever constructed. Since the 1920's and the beginning of the auto and motorcycle daredevil shows commemorative coins have been used by teams such as Joie Chitwood and Evel Knievel. This 1.75" coin depicts the Hemi Under Glass on one side and the Hurst "H" on the other. The 1.75" diameter has become the most popular size for military commemorative/challenge coins. Each brass coin weighs approximately 1.4 oz and comes with a clear plastic pouch, a black velvet pouch, and a small acrylic stand. The coin makes an excellent addition to any diecast or memorabilia collection.

In June of 1965, the Hurst Hemi Under Glass made its debut at the NHRA Spring Nationals in Bristol, TN with Drag Racing Hall of Fame inductee Wild Bill Shrewsberry behind the wheel. The Hemi Under Glass is the most famous of all Hurst performance vehicles and driver, Mike Mantel, continues to thrill crowds today with over 100 mph 1/4 mile wheelstands.
